Qualifying – Second Round: Sunday 1 November schedule
Which players will earn their place in the season’s final Masters 1000 event?
After an opening day of qualifying packed with drama and entertainment, the 14 players still standing will battle for the final seven spots in the main draw this Sunday on the courts of the Plenitude Arena.
Having staged an impressive comeback against Zachary Svajda on Saturday, No.3 seed Thiago Agustin Tirante will get proceedings underway alongside No.13 seed Mattia Bellucci from 11:00 on centre court. The two players have never faced each other on the professional circuit and will both be aiming to qualify for the Rolex Paris Masters main draw for the first time.
Benefiting from a wild card and roared on by the home crowd during his heroic victory over Tallon Griekspoor, Benjamin Bonzi now stands just one win away from a third main-draw appearance in Paris. On Sunday, he will take on No.9 seed Yannick Hanfmann, who edged him in three sets in Montreal earlier this season.
The first player to secure a place in the second round thanks to his swift victory over Jaime Faria, Rinky Hijikata will once again be first on court on Court 1 at 11:00. This time, he faces No.11 seed Vit Kopriva.
Up next, top seed Sebastian Baez will attempt to justify his status against Tomas Machac. The challenge is a significant one, however, as Machac has won both of their previous meetings.
In the final match on the Arena’s second-largest court, No.4 seed Nuno Borges, who produced an impressive comeback victory over Adrian Mannarino, will face Alex Molcan.
Court 2 will also feature two fascinating encounters. First up is an all-seeded clash between No.5 seed Juan Manuel Cerundolo and No.8 seed Miomir Kecmanovic. Cerundolo currently leads their head-to-head series 2-0.
To close the day, No.6 seed Adolfo Daniel Vallejo, fresh from his upset victory over Grigor Dimitrov in the final match of the first round, will take on Lorenzo Sonego, a Round of 16 finisher at the Rolex Paris Masters in 2025.
